PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

Being a monocot in the grass family, bamboo does not have any sapwood/heartwood or growth rings. Texture is very uniform, and ranges from medium to fine depending on density. Bamboo that has been split and processed into lumber will have intermittent variations in the fiber at each node on the stem.

WHAT COLOR IS BAMBOO PLYWOOD?

Natural 3 ply Bamboo plywood is light in color. However, it is possible to apply a non-toxic steam treatment to allow the natural sugars in the bamboo to "carbonize" and create darker, almost amber color tones.

HOW THE BAMBOO PLYWOOD IS MADE

The bamboo plywood is made of moso bamboo, the bamboo grows up to 1 meter per day and is a rapidly renewable resource for building materials. The bamboo plywood is widely used for flooring, decking, wall-covering, beams, boards and worktops, which meets the highest requirements in terms of use, safety and hardness.

We cut the bamboo into strip and select the strip into different thickness and structure. Then we dry the strip and make the structure as client required. There's vertical structure and horizontal structre. The vertical structure is more steady.

ARE THERE DOWNSIDES TO USING BAMBOO PLYWOOD?

The only real pitfall to bamboo is its availability. Bamboo can grow almost anywhere on Earth; most of the bamboo stock is found in Asia. So if you are based in North America, know that it has to travel a great distance to get here, adding to the overall footprint/impact of the product.
